The legendary cartoon character, Betty Boop, that numerous have
seen portrayed in motion pictures, newspaper comedian strips was
inspired by a Black jazz singer Esther Jones or Newborn
Esther. The cartoon was released in the 1930s by
cartoonist Max Fleischer. Betty Boop is regarded for her
revealing costume, curvaceous determine and signature vocals
“Boop Oop A Doop”. While there has been controversy
around the decades, the inspiration has been traced back to
Jones who frequently done at the prestigious
Cotton Club in Harlem through the 1920s.
