Now that we know the Washington Wizards might want to blow it up, can the Brooklyn Nets make a good trade for one of their key players?
It only took three or so years, but the Washington Wizards are finally contemplating a teardown. In the midst of a horrid 5-11 start to the season, everything has gone wrong in the nation’s capital.
Per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Wizards are putting the “for sale” signs up on their core three of John Wall, Bradley Beal, and Otto Porter Jr. This trio’s ceiling has been in question for years now, and Wizards brass is finally pondering the nightmare scenario of biting the bullet.
Several years of early playoff exits will do that. Although they have two stars and a good role player as their foundation, it’s simply not enough to compete with truly elite franchises. General manager Ernie Grunfeld arguably took too long to realize this roadblock, but here they are.
With all this in mind, it’s an opportune time to see what our beloved Brooklyn Nets can do about it. Should they trade for any of the three? If so, who?
