NBA, news: Mitch Creek signs with Brooklyn Nets on 10-day contract

LOS ANGELES, CA — When Mitch Creek signed with the NBL’s new expansion team, he made it crystal clear that he wasn’t giving up on his NBA dream.

“This is definitely not me throwing in the towel,” Creek told foxsports.com.au at the time. “100 percent, not even f***ing close.”

That persistence to keep chasing the NBA finally paid off on Saturday (AEDT), with the Australian wing signing a 10-day contract with the Brooklyn Nets.

Creek had been playing for the Nets’ G-League affiliate, the Long Island Nets, averaging 14.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.0 steals a game, while shooting 54.8 percent from the field; performing well enough to be called up to the franchise’s NBA team.
